Members widely confirmed experiencing balance issues and dizziness as part of their fibromyalgia, with many describing frequent falls, vertigo episodes, and the need to move slowly or use assistive devices like walkers to stay safe. Several members shared helpful strategies including using a walker for stability, applying biofreeze at night, taking extra caution on ice and snow, and having support from loved ones or personal support workers during vulnerable moments like showering. A recurring theme was the relief of realizing balance problems are a recognized fibromyalgia symptom rather than something imagined, alongside the importance of moving carefully and giving yourself grace when your body feels unsteady.

. Though I was only told I had fibro about 4yrs ago , I knew there was something wrong . I have had arthritis for at least 15 yrs . but the another Dr. said I had Fibro. Yes I am very light headed , and passed out , they did tests , but no results , Finally it was so bad that I know use a walker . I have a PSW ,because ,my head is so bad I can't take a shower alone . I was angry , but you have to move on . I have injections on my back and neck for the arthritis still .

I am dizzy a lot of the time. When my fibro is bad I get a whoosh whooshing sound in my head too. I think it is tinitus but not sure. I only get it when my fibro flares. Anyone else get this?

Yup, a lot of the time. I get vertigo when I get up too quickly, especially in the morning. My heart is okay, and my lungs are okay. My brain...some would say way off! :0)))) Blessings....teri

Bridget shaw I know what you mean. I had my mishap with vertigo when my first brother passed away. I felt like my world was spinning out of control. I couldn't stand ,sit or lay down. The worst time ever! If I look at something that's spinning around or pasing by fast it hits me. But I haven't had a problem since 2002 thank God!!
