If you look up why knuckles crack, it is a build up of gas air pockets in the joints fluids, that pop. My boys, my mother, and I all have had loads of cracking, always. Sometimes so much air builds that its uncomfortable, and so flexing to pop those air pockets seems to help us here. You can watch a video of an MRI where it is shown happening in a finger joint. It is interesting, but naturally concerning when it your neck, chest, back, basically everywhere, (Rice Krispy sounding body!), without a chiropractic manipulation, or you trying to crack it for relief.
