Members rallied around someone experiencing shaking hands for the first time alongside their usual morning swelling, with the overwhelming response being that tremors are a common experience, particularly in the hands but also throughout the body, legs, and during activities like writing or holding utensils. Several members shared that fatigue intensifies shaking, and many described related symptoms including body jerks, dropping things, difficulty with fine motor tasks like pouring liquids, temperature dysregulation with chills and sweats, and one member being told by their doctor that fatigue is the underlying cause. A recurring theme was the practical connection to Raynaud's syndrome, with members discussing how cold exposure worsens symptoms and sharing strategies like covering all skin in cold weather, using hot water bottles instead of heating pads, layering clothing heavily even in summer, and understanding that the cold can seep into bones and trigger swelling.

It’s awful, i started noticing in high school that when I touched anything cold my fingers and hands would turn purple and swell. My doctor at the time stated my oxygen levels were probably low but didn’t check me further.

I hate being cold all the time, even in the summer, I’m bundled with gloves, a hat, heavy cardigan, two pair of socks, and sometimes a heavy fleece robe which I also wear to bed. I only go to doctor appointments during the cold seasons because it’s so hard to warm up after being outside, the cold seeps through to my bones and I swell. I’ve started using hot water bottles instead of a heating pad and they seem to help much better. I also use one to keep my feet warm because regardless of the number or the thickness of the socks they are always freezing.

When you go out in cold weather, cover all of your skin, leave nothing exposed to the cold. Covering will help with the some of the swelling and the prickly feeling. I hope this helps. Hope you have a restful day and gentle hugs 😊

@A MyFibroTeam Member I sweat buckets at times and feel like ice at others but I don’t shake after that. My hand shakes when I try to write something, my writing now looks like a five year olds.
