Chiropractor Or Massage

A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone used acupuncture or chiropractic care? I've been to a chiropractor once to pop my hip back in place, think I may need that again as well as something for my lower back, feels like something is out of place.

Members overwhelmingly shared positive experiences with chiropractic care, massage therapy, and acupuncture for managing fibromyalgia pain, with many finding that regular adjustments and treatments significantly improved their daily functioning and quality of life. Several members offered practical advice, including finding a chiropractor who uses X-rays and stretching rather than just adjustments, starting with twice-weekly visits until symptoms stabilize, exploring combo services at rehab centers that offer both massage and chiropractic care, and looking for affordable options through cash-pay arrangements or discount services like Groupon. A recurring theme was the importance of finding practitioners who tailor treatment frequency to individual needs rather than pushing unnecessary visits, with many members successfully maintaining improvement through monthly maintenance appointments after initial intensive treatment periods.

Hello. I do all of the above. I have a massage every 2-3 weeks and at that time I have a chiropractic adjustment (they are in the same office) I also recently started seeing an acupuncturist and wow that helps so so much. Especially if I am having a flare. It’s really amazing. All are worth a try , personally I would start with the accupuncture (most have massages treatment after). Good luck and feel better.

I see a Chiropractor every 2-3 weeks! He has been a "life savor" for me! Just make sure you find a good one...who believes in x- rays and stretching and isn't just a "bone cracker"!

Been going to a great chiropractor 2x a week for maybe 6 weeks now and its made a world of a difference! I am able to get out of bed on my own every morning! I haven't been able to go since the week of Thanksgiving and I'm still doing well. Have an appointment on Monday!

I got a great deal on Groupon ($23) for chiropractic care, a 60 massage, plus 2 xrays.

I have been going to an acupuncturist for about a month and a half now. Took 2 visits to start seeing a difference. Acupuncture is a game changer for me. I will recommend it to any and all. I urge you to try it and give it at least 2 sessions to notice any difference.
