Does anyone else have auto immune disorders and if so what is your diagnosis?
@A MyFibroTeam Member, I totally and 100% agree with you. Both of my doctors already call this an autoimmune. The doctor at my pain clinic has read some new information that they think this might not even have anything to do with the central nervous system but something else. They have a new drug that’s coming out in the next year or two. It’s an antiviral mixed with Celebrex. New information is coming out all the time. I’m encouraged to know that, and I’m looking forward to learning more and more as it comes. When they finally do classify this as an autoimmune, more money will be put into it and we might finally get more help.

Celiac and IBS. However, despite the fact that I’m part of the medical community STILL fighting to get fibro recognized as an autoimmune disorder, it still IS an autoimmune disorder in itself, in addition to causing other disorders. When a disorder causes this much havoc and cellular stress, it is by definition an autoimmune disorder because it depresses your immune system as your body’s energy stores are being directed elsewhere and thus react to your own body as an invader. That’s why it’s nearly impossible to find someone with fibro who DOESN’T have an autoimmune disorder attached to it. Fibro mainly through the overwhelming cellular stress causes autoimmune disorders. We’re so close in the medical community to getting this classification applied, and yet still so far.
I have Raynaud’s and hypothyroid.

I have undifferentiated connective tissue disease, which is auto-immune but no definitive disease. My Rheumatologist leans toward Lupus but I think more rheumatoid arthritis due to family history and consistent joint pain. But my blood work is negative for that. I take Plaqunel (spelling) and Arava.
I have an underactive thyroid now.
