I have TMJ as well and I use a night split when it is bothering me. I also use pain relievers, anti-inflammatories and heat compresses with some success. I've tried acupuncture and chiropractic, but they weren't that successful for me. Especially considering the price for it.
Hopefully you find something that gives you some relief.

My jaw feels tight and I clench my teeth. This is a new symptom I'm experiencing ? Comes with headeachs aswell. I never use to have headeachs.

I do take a lot of ibuprofen!! Am trying to hang on to my teeth but am considering maybe I'd be better off with false teeth!

Hi are you taking any medications for osteoporosis? Some of the meds for osteoporosis were causing jaw pain and teeth problems. I was on meds for osteoporosis and had to stop taking them because my bottom teeth had shifted and the dentist told me to stop taking the meds. Ask your doctor or dentist. Good luck.

I used to grind or clinch my tèeth a lot - stress related. It turned into TMJ, I had also fracture a couple of teeth from grinding them so hard. The dentist gave me a night guard to where when I went to sleep. It helped, but I didnt really like wearing it, I would catch myself chewing or clenching down on it a lot.
