Members overwhelmingly confirmed that sciatica pain is common alongside fibromyalgia, with many describing pain radiating from the lower back or buttocks down through the legs, sometimes to the feet, often triggered by disc issues, nerve impingement, or muscle imbalances. Several members shared practical relief strategies including ice therapy (emphasized over heat), specific stretches, topical treatments like Diclofenac gel or muscle rubs, chiropractic care, physical therapy, low-dose pain medications, lumbar support cushions, acupuncture, cortisone injections, and TENS units, though experiences varied widely on what worked best. A recurring theme was the importance of seeing a doctor to identify the root cause, advocating for proper referrals when needed, and not accepting dismissive treatment, as sciatica may be structural rather than purely fibromyalgia-related and often requires targeted intervention to manage.

I had about 50-60 needles in the back of my head and neck. It was at a pain clinic and they were beta blockers to stop the nerve pain. Unfortunately it didn't work. I have tried all the drugs for fibro and it just caused me more problems. We all know our own bodies and we're all like snowflakes ❄️ different. 🤗

@A MyFibroTeam Member hi I'm sorry you're suffering with this pain. I have trapped nerves one in the left and one in the right which is excruciating. I use Ibuprofen gel and that helps to ease the pain. I also find swimming helps too hugs xx
