Members welcomed the news of Lady Gaga publicly sharing her fibromyalgia diagnosis in a Time article, expressing hope that her celebrity platform would bring much-needed attention, education, and research funding to a condition many feel is misunderstood or dismissed by doctors and the public. Several members noted the bittersweet reality that chronic illnesses often gain recognition only after a celebrity speaks out, while also acknowledging that stars like Gaga and Cyndi Lauper play a crucial role in breaking stigma and spreading awareness. A recurring theme was the contrast between Gaga's access to extensive support, including personal care and medical resources, and the everyday reality faced by most fibromyalgia patients who must cope without such help.

I like her. She'll be a great help like Cindy Lauper is for psoriasis.

I saw much of it. You're right -- she lives a frantic existence. As an aside, I was very surprised she smokes

Yes I saw it. It is no surprise that she has it considering the extremely hectic &frantic lifestyle she has been living considering that she is a very sensitive soul. I wud have liked to have seen more or heard more from her about specifics. They kind of glossed over a lot. She did say that she was lucky that she had as much help that she has.
She has people feeding her, massaging her, giving her vitamins or meds.
She said she doesn't know how other people cope without help.
Well, yes very true LadyGaga.
