I Am Awaiting An Appointment To Be Seen By The Rheumatology Department How Will This Be Conducted?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I have been suffering muscle weakness and cramping in my left side mainly for bearings 10mths now. Have also had pins and needles to my hands and feet continually for about six months. Some mornings it's taking an hour to get out of bed. My head is telling me but my body isn't having any of it. I was signed off work 10wks ago due to chronic fatigue which took six weeks to lift from the extreme. I am due to go back to work this week but my big concern is how long before I see the rheumatology… read more

My rheumatologist knew right away that I had FM and Rheumatoid arthritis. I woke up at 2 in the morning and my arms were bent andin the air . I couldn' move them and I felt like I could injure anyone who touched me! My nerves were so inflamed. My body felt so weird. I also woke up one day and I couldn't move my arm. My dr. Gave me a steroid shot and he said if u can move your arm in a couple of days and it feels fine that I would have to go to a rheumatologist . I did then I was diagnosed with FM and RA

I have been tested for infection and vit and mineral definency and these have been repeated recently all coming back within normal range. I haven't seen the rheumatology department the referral was made about five weeks ago. My concern is that I am due to go back to work on a phased return and the GP wants to review in a month. I am concerned that I am going to end up with another long period off work and still no concrete answers. The one GP has indicated that they feel FB is the next thing to rule out, but wouldn't elaborate on it. Feel very stuck in the middle.

Hi Wayne, Sorry to hear about your symptoms! I saw a rheumatologist a few months ago and the dr was extremely nice...it took me about 3 months to get in for an appt. Did they do your bloodwork and see some evidence of any autoimmune markers? The dr was very thorough in going over all my symptoms and then did additional bloodwork. I have autoimmune markers but they weren't high enough to be diagnosed with an acutal autoimmune disease.
