Unfortunately my birth mother doesn't seem to care what I'm going through and what MY family goes through with this illness amongst other things. She is more worried about my sister and her kids that she doesn't even bother to call, visit, or even make the effort to pick up my teenage boys to take them to see their uncles. Thank you I will also keep you in my prayers. Yes I do have a small but understanding support system which includes my dad and stepmom
Wow! That super crazy and shame on her. My mom has some weird better treatment to my brothers than my sister and me, it's odd. She always treated my twin with so much care and protection. I lived with my dad and when I told her my dad was beating me up she never came and got me, I was just 12 years old. So I feel for you. I spent years trying to make my parents be parents.... and they just can't without initiative. I hope you have support besides them. No wonder we have fibro with all the trauma that our bodies have endured. Keep you head up Denise. I will pray for you.
I decided that I can't afford the energy to those people in my life. My mom is the same way and will never be a good mom to me because she just doesn't know how to be one. Just grieve the loss that she is not the mom you really need and keep moving forward! You just keep telling yourself it's their loss and don't let their ignorance take away your energy and happiness!
@A MyFibroTeam Member yes she makes me have all type of flare ups and anxiety and I had to learn to ignore her and keep my distance from her or I would be in my grave don't get me wrong I love her but I think it's best that I keep an hi and bye relationship
Ive tried educating my family about fibromyalgia with internet sites and books. But it does nothing, most of them want even read it.
My youngest brother seems to get it most days, so thats something. Most people dont want to understand im sorry to say. Its something thats hard to deal with, but you'll have to deal with it from now on.
