Hey everyone, I am currently falling asleep during the day and early evening with no warning. I work from home thankfully, but it's scary that I can be typing away and suddenly I wake up 5 plus minutes later!
Has anyone else experienced this? I have booked an appt with the dr for 2 weeks today as I am thinking along the lines of CFS - cheers everyone xoxo

Members shared their experiences with suddenly falling asleep during the day without warning, describing how frightening and disruptive it can be, with incidents ranging from nodding off at the computer to falling asleep while driving or even standing at the sink. Several members identified chronic fatigue syndrome and sleep apnea as potential culprits, with some finding relief through sleep studies, weight loss, B12 injections, or treatment for low oxygen levels, while others noted that narcolepsy symptoms overlapped with their experiences and encouraged medical evaluation. A recurring theme was the emotional relief of knowing others face the same scary reality, the importance of pursuing testing and specialist referrals, and the practical need to avoid dangerous situations like driving until answers are found.

Yes, I have experienced this and you are right, it is extremely scary. Not having any warning was the worst part for me. I had it happen to me once while driving......now THAT was a nightmare! I didn't have it checked out as it passed and I just chalked it up to another sneaky symptom of the Fibro (btw.....I don't drive much now not having a vehicle). I will be interested in what you find out or what others have to say about this.

I read about the symptoms of narcolepsy, and what a lot of people are saying here, except for the sleep apnea, sounds a lot like it. Narcolepsy is very treatable from what I read. I'm glad you're seeing the doctor. Good luck.

I have fallen asleep just sitting at computer or sitting in a chair. It's called CHRONIC FATIGUE SYNDROME which unfortunately come with Fibromyalgia! I was diagnosed 7 years with it, sleep apnea & anemic. Triple dose, had to give myself B12 injections everyday, lost 60lbs & got rid of 2 culprits! CFS is not going to go away unless they find a cure! Hope this helps you.

I thought narcolepsy also because I was the same way. They did all kinds of tests. No results. Now I'm opposite and barely sleep. Hope you find out what it is because I remember the fear if not knowing when it's happen and I has a little one to take care of. Best wishes
