Members shared their experiences with nausea related to fibromyalgia, with many describing how severe pain flares, migraines, and overexertion can trigger waves of queasiness that sometimes make eating difficult or impossible. Several members found it challenging to pinpoint whether their nausea stemmed from fibro itself or overlapping conditions like IBS, GERD, celiac disease, or vertigo, though some noted that starting pain medication or managing flare-ups helped reduce symptoms. A recurring theme was the frustration of living with persistent nausea that doctors struggle to explain or treat, alongside practical coping strategies like eating bland foods such as chicken broth, grilled cheese, or scrambled eggs during particularly rough days.

During bad flares or my severe migraines I can feel nauseated. During it I usually live off chicken broth, grilled cheese, if I can stomach it, or scrambled eggs. If I try to ignore it and eat a normal meal, granted I never get down a normal amount, I always end up getting sick.

I have ibs too but usually when that acts up it feels different, like an actual upset stomach. The nausea is just an uneasy feeling, so long as I don't test it I can make it out without my head in the toilet

Severe pain flares do make me nauseous. It is also common for Fibro patients to have digestive problems including IBS.

@A MyFibroTeam Member I'm so glad you mentioned the low grade fever during flares! I have told my primary this a couple of times but she said that's not fibromyalgia. Of course she has no explanation. I have been hearing this more and more though from Fibro sufferers.
