Cymbalta, good or bad? Dosage?
Amitriptyline good or bad? Dosage?
Lyrica? Good or bad? dosage?
Savella? Is it available in Canada? Good or bad?
CBD oil? good or bad? Dosage? How to use?
Combinations of any of the above meds? pain control? Do you get stoned, look stoned? Impaired cognitive function? How often do you have to use it for therapeutic effect?
Thanks for any guidance. I'm lost and my GP is no better.

Members shared their diverse experiences with various fibromyalgia pain medications, with many noting that Lyrica and amitriptyline provided relief but often came with side effects like grogginess, stiffness, or memory problems, while Cymbalta received mixed reviews ranging from helpful to causing excessive sleepiness. Several members found CBD oil to be a valuable addition to their treatment plans, describing it as helpful for anxiety and pain without cognitive impairment, and emphasized the importance of starting with low doses and experimenting with different forms like sprays, cooking oils, or topical ointments. A recurring theme was the challenge of balancing effective pain management with quality of life, as many members described needing multiple medications to function while carefully monitoring side effects, and expressed frustration that finding the right combination often requires trial and error without sufficient guidance from healthcare providers.

I take 50 mg amitriptyline each night. I use to take 100mg nightly for over 20 years but then my memory started going, could not even remember the road I lived on, the doctor came to the conclusion that it was caused by the large amount off build up of the tablets over the yrs. I was weaned off them and my memory came back. But also the pain was back on a night. They are a good pain killer and sleeping tablet. My doctor put me back on too them 50 mg dosage, my body is so use to them that the sleeping tablet does not always help with the sleeping.

I take cymbals 60 mg twice a day plus topamax 100 mg twice a day helps me tremendously. If I don't take them I can tell because I start feeling the pain and having migraines.

Could not do Cymbalta, Lyrica made me a zombie. Right now gabapentin works for flares but not for too long as it causes short term memory impairment. I have vicodin for pain and it takes the edge off, I use that only as needed. If you take a muscle relaxer, try Flexeril but do not mix with other meds that cause respiratory depression like Xanax. CBD oil is good for pain and general well being feeling. I take the liquid I mix with honey but it is very expensive. I have an ointment by the same company made with CBD that smells delicious and has holy basil and frankinsence in it the company is @Palmetto Harmony. I am on low dose antidepressants but I take them not every single day, they are zoloft and wellbutrin. I cannot sleep so I do take Ambien CR. I would rather smoke marijuana then take pills.
