Members overwhelmingly confirmed experiencing balance issues that make them feel drunk or unsteady, often swaying side to side, walking into walls, or veering unexpectedly while walking, with many noting the problem worsens when tired or during flares. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including daily balance and stretching exercises, using a cane or walker when needed, wearing Vibram toe shoes for stability, trying the Melt Method to restore center of gravity, and sitting down immediately when imbalance strikes to prevent falls. A recurring theme was the importance of reporting symptoms to doctors, ruling out other causes like inner ear issues or vitamin B1 deficiency, and giving yourself permission to use mobility aids without shame while being gentle with your body on difficult days.

I find my balance off quite often. i walk into things, doorway, refrig, dining room table. those are the days if my husband isnt home, i dont get a shower. i am terrified of falling in the bathroom and no one here to help me.

Yes I do! The only things I have found that actually help make it better and makes me more stable are Vibram shoes (they're the toe shoes 😳) and the Melt Method. The Vibram shoes have helped the pain in my feet and given me back some of my stability and Melt has certain techniques that heals your body find its center of gravity again which helps you become more stable. Hope this helps! Good luck in your search for what works best for you!

Yes sometimes I feel like I'm leaning more to one side. I also notice sometimes I'll reach for the kitchen cabinet handle or door knob and I miss it. My aim seems to be off sometimes.

Yes I also get like that, walk into things too. Can be fine one minute and the next it's like your legs have forgotten what to do
