I spent the night at one of the top sleep study clinics in the USA. The bottom line is that I am not reaching deep sleep and wake up often. I am not on any medications.
They told me absolutely no sleep medications as they ( and many fibro drugs) alter deep sleep and prevent human growth hormone formation that is critical for fibro recovery and stopping the pain.

Melatonin is banned in the UK as it can be addicted, so I would be careful and would not suggest it for long term use... use Passion Flower tea.. it's really relaxing and people use it in Australia for anxiety re the dentist etc as it just helps you relax and wind down.
Tried it. I use it for my kids in gummie form when they have problems with sleep. It is helpful but for me I found after taking it for a week at a time I feel pretty groggy in the mornings and a bit of fog through out the day.
I used it years ago and suffered headaches from it. Now I use Xanax extended release and trazodone. I wish I could use the Melatonin...

Do you dream? I dream so I think I reach the REM stage. I also take prescription Ambien CR. Sleep is so important to healing!
