Specific Pain That Comes At Night.
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Recently I've been getting this terrible pain at night, mostly when I go to bed and try to go to sleep in my legs and sometimes in my arms. It's this horrible achey pain that feels like it's in my bones and it makes me feel like I want to stretch my entire body, but nothing helps. I assume it's my Fibromyalgia but in 17 years I've never had this problem. Does anyone else experience this? If so what do you do for it? The pain is terrible.

Thanks,

Emma

Yes I do. First we , my doctor and I, thought it was the tired leg syndrome. I would recommend magnesium tables and omega 3 before you go to bed that will help you sleep

It sounds like restless leg syndrome, I got this when I first got diagnosed with fibromyalgia and some of it my vitamins are out of whack and some of it I had to go on medication

Emma, I have had similar nighttime leg and hip pain and spasms for 6-7 years now. It feels like someone is twisting my bones, all night long. I was diagnosed with fibro one year ago. I take a long warm soak in a warm bath with Epsom salts. I also do self-massage and use a foam roller to calm my muscles. I watch tv to distract myself, I am currently obsessed with Orange is the New Black. Hope this helps...

I suffer with my lower back, hips and knees at night, so I sleep on a heated under blanket which really soothes and relaxes my muscles and helps me to sleep xx

I don't know if it's your fibro or not, but I do know that fibro can be worse at night. I have a lot of opinions why but not the subject here.
What helps me at night when I feel the way you are describing is sleeping with a heating pad. Not an electric one but one made of cloth filled with either corn or rice. I put mine in the microwave for four minutes and the heat lasts about three hours.
It brings so much relief and you can move it to different parts of uour body throughout the night.
I'm so sorry you are having a rough time. I hopes this helps and I hope you find some relief soon.
xxxx
