When i am having a bad day, my whole body is achy but most of my pain is in my back, shoulders, neck and head. It can get so bad that i cant carry out my day. Just wondering if fibro pain can be as specific as in my neck and at times "spread" to my shoulders, back and arms? Does any one else experience specific pain like this?

Members confirmed that fibromyalgia pain can start in specific areas like the neck, shoulders, and back, then spread unpredictably throughout the body from day to day, with many describing flu-like aching, burning sensations, and pain so severe it disrupts daily activities and sleep. Several members shared relief strategies that have helped them manage flares, including heat therapy (like a warm hair dryer on the neck), ice packs, massage therapy, stretching, hydrotherapy, chiropractic care for built-up tension, and pacing activities with rest breaks. A recurring theme was the frustration of pain moving without warning and the importance of listening to your body, reducing stress, and seeking specialists in fibromyalgia who can provide targeted exercises and support.

Yes my Fibro started in my neck 6 years ago and has spread throughout my body. I feel for you. I used to blast the hair dryer on the back of my neck on a warm setting. Trust me give it a try it does give quick relief for a while good luck xx

Those my worst areas too. I see a massage therapist weekly and it really helps.

Mine all started in my shoulders, neck and arms after three shoulder surgeries and a lot of stress!!! It has gradually gone to all over my body!! Usually my worst pain is definitely my neck, shoulders, arms (including wrists hands elbows), and now my legs, although other parts hurt to touch!!!

Yes, I feel the exact same. A burning sensation as though I am lifting weights and the mussle is getting tired. This while I am just sitting or lying still.
