Members rallied around someone experiencing severe plantar fasciitis pain, sharing practical relief strategies that have worked for them personally. Several members recommended rolling a tennis ball or frozen water bottle under the heel to stretch the fascia, wearing supportive shoes like Vionic sandals with good arch support, never walking barefoot on cold floors, and seeing a podiatrist for professional guidance. A recurring theme was the challenge of balancing rest with movement, with some members sharing supplement routines including calcium, potassium, and fish oil that significantly reduced their pain within weeks.

I discovered Orthaheel sandals years ago, my plantar fasciitis and shin splints disappeared almost entirely, and even though my orthopedist says my heel spurs are severe, they don't bother me either unless I am on my feet for a very long time. I also have bunions and gout - sigh!!! - and I live in Arizona so I wear Orthaheel flip flops year-round. I have several pair, and whenever there's a sale I get a new color. Look up Vionics and get on their mail list if you are interested, they offer discounts and sales which is good because their shoes are pricey. BUT I don't have to buy or use any other kind of orthotics.

Hi Jan, I also suffer from planter. But these days I only get the odd flare up, most of the time it's OK.
I was referred to a brilliant specialist due to an ankle injury. Whilst I was there, I mentioned the pain in my heel. He said it was plantar. He said I could have steroid injections, but they were pretty sore.
Instead he told me to get a tennis ball and roll it back and forth under my heel whilst sitting watching tv or reading a book. He also said to never walk barefoot on cold tile floors as this makes the plantar worse.
It's really worked for me, and if I get a flare up I just get the tennis ball out.
I hope this works for you. Gentle hugs.

I went my doctor because I was having spasms so badly in my feet that it would pull two of my toes down under my foot, she said I had plantar fasciitis so no I keep a frozen can juice concentrate and roll it under my foot, she wants me to do it every day,it definitely helps. Hope that helped, have a joyful weekend
