I found out on Monday that I am having surgery a week from Wednesday. This will be my first medical procedure since being diagnosed with fibro. I'm anticipating a ridiculous round of flare up's, pain, etc. Has anyone else had any experiences with this sort of thing?
I've had 16 surgeries since I was diagnosed. It hasn't made anything worse . At least I didn't think so. I didn't stress over the surgery and I think that helped. I always tell myself before going into surgery the worst thing that could happen is that I die in my sleep. If I have to go that's the way I want it to happen.. don't stress and everything will be ok. Good luck
Actually, I had very little pain for about a week after surgery.
I had two surgeries in the last 3 years. The surgery pain was painful because I already take a lot of pain medication so they said it would be harder to control. The fibro pain itself was not worst. I did have complications after both surgery and they think I am allergic to the anesthesia so I'm waiting yo be tested for that.
I have had several, my fibro didn't bother them. Good luck!
I have had three surgeries just this year. I haven't noticed anything worse or different from before. I think the biggest thing is to stay calm. And if you have panic issues make sure to tell the Dr they might be able to give you something to make it easier on you. I hope everything turns out well for you!
