This maybe a little personal for some to answer but as each year passes, the pain becomes worse and there are certain activities that seem to take longer to recover from. Lately, after sex, my body feel like I've been hit by a bus! The next day or a few hours later, I can barely move! Does this happen to anyone else. So far my boyfriend is okay but I know that makes him feel bad....

Members opened up about experiencing significant physical pain after intimacy, with many describing feeling like they've been hit by a bus and being unable to move for hours or even days afterward. Several members shared practical strategies that have helped, including letting their partner do most of the physical work, using pillows for support, focusing more on foreplay to stay relaxed, and trying different positions to reduce strain on hips and legs. A recurring theme was the emotional complexity of wanting intimacy while managing chronic pain, the relief of knowing others share this struggle, and the importance of partners who are understanding and willing to adapt without making them feel guilty.

Sounds like during sex your muscl s are becoming engaged, fatiguing and the fibro symptoms kick in. Here's an intimate suggestion: lie back, try to only let your "love muscle" get engaged-let him do ALL the work, maybe use pillows to prop where necessary. It should be fun at the very least!

I was beginning to wonder if it was just me having this problem and I have been to embarrassed to ask the question, I thought it was in my imagination. I don't have any answers but I hope it reassures you to know that you are not on your own with this. I noticed it starting to get worse about six months ago and it has got to the point where within an hour of finishing I am barely able to move and definitely am out of action the following day x

Dani, I believe I am the only guy to answer but I do understand where you are coming from and where your partner may be at. The positive note is that your partner cares enough about you to not want to hurt you for the sake of his own needs. My best advice and I have a lot of experience with this, is to focus on foreplay. This will relax you and is more slow and sensual. Think journey not destination. It will take pressure off of both of you
