I have been on Gabapentin for over two years. 300mg in the am, 300 in the afternoon & 300 before bed, It wasn't taking the pain as much as it did at the start so Morphine was added twice a day. I was never pain free with the gabapentin but it took the edge off, the morphine did the same, Even with both it never completely took the pain. I was recently approved for medical pot, and it is the only thing that has ever taken the pain totally away, Everything goes numb, and there is no pain, all within minutes. I cant wait for it to be legal everywhere so more people could use it for pain. I'm hoping once I get used to the side effects I will get some of my life back again. Fingers crossed

Gabapentin works well for me.
I take 300mg in a morning and save the rest 600mg till an hour before bed.
Relieves a lot of the burning skin pain and helps with sleep.
The drowsiness wears off after about 2-3 weeks. Persevere and see if it helps for you. Good luck xx

I tried it for like 2 days and was so rediculasly tired I refused to take it. I am now on venlafaxine...

It did for me, but that goes away after a while. I am the same as Shilo. My PCP is trying me out a week whifting some Gabapentin with Lyrica. I don't think its helping me though. I hated the memory loss and mood swings from Gabapentin though. Its a gamble. Good luck and I hope you feel better
