Members shared mixed experiences with fentanyl patches for chronic pain management, with some finding initial relief while others reported little to no benefit for conditions like fibromyalgia. Several members described serious side effects including severe vein and chest pain leading to discontinuation, dizziness, breathing problems, and patches not lasting the full 72 hours as intended, prompting some to change them every 48 hours instead. A recurring theme was the importance of never stopping fentanyl cold turkey due to severe withdrawal symptoms, being aware of serious health risks including heart complications and respiratory depression, and finding individualized pain management strategies that balance relief with quality of life.

I agree I don't feel tried on mine at all, fentanyl helped loads but didn't agree with my heart

yes, I had a fentanyl patch and quit using it after about 2 weeks, it didn't really help at all but did make me feel kinda dizzy and decreased my ability to push through without lowering any of the pain. I know the thing of addiction, but I choose to be able to function over the addiction, so I take morphine extended release 3 times a day and a muscle relaxer 4 times a day, because my pain threshold is so high it does not make me doppy or sleepy and only way I can maintain any quality of life.

Slippery slope this drug is highly addictive.

I used it for a few years. It didn't help me at all. I was told by my Dr that narcotic pain relievers don't help fibromyalgia.
