The last couple of months, I've been having increased back pain. No injury or anything that I can link to it. Used to bother me occasionally but has become an almost constant problem and more severe

If you are having that much back pain you probably should see a neurosurgeon to see if you have a problem with your spine. An x-ray won't show much. You will need an MRI.
The other option is to go to a pain clinic to see if pain blocks will help. There are also exercises you can learn that can help. The first step is to know what the problem is.
I also go to the chiropractor. And it seems to help.
Hi Linsey
Have you tried seeing a Chiropractor? I had really bad back problems about 2 years ago and nothing I did was working, in fact, like you I only got worse (RLS, severe tension, headaches all the time, sleep was becoming sparse, the list is too long). I went to this Chiropractor and as soon as I said "Fibro" he knew he had to be very gentle. He treated me for subluxations and extreme tension - I wasn't even able to breathe properly, but he started with full X-rays to rule out any spinal issues, which is where he found the arthritis in my spine. If you are like me then very small slight adjustments have the best long term benefit for you, or if you are like many others, then having a few adjustments will have a speedy effect.
I would recommend it highly, but make it very clear that you have Fibro so they understand they have to be very gentle and take it slowly.
Good luck.
Have an x-ray done. although you haven't had an injury, doesn't mean there cant be problems with your back.
a heating pad seems to help me . I think when my back is really hurting the pain causes muscles surrounding the area that hurts the most tighten up. the heating pad seems to relax the muscles some.
