Good evening, fellow sufferers. I have a lot of foot pain. Sometimes my heels hurt so bad I have to walk on the balls of my feet for days at a time. It comes and goes. I have been diagnosed with RA and Fibromyalgia. My question is whether it's a good idea to see a podiatrist? I feel a little silly like the doc might just tell me, "umm you have RA and Fibromyalgia....". Thoughts? Thank you.

Members responded warmly to someone questioning whether to see a podiatrist for severe heel and foot pain related to RA and fibromyalgia, with the overwhelming consensus being that a visit is absolutely worthwhile and could provide real relief. Several members shared practical solutions that worked for them, including custom orthotics from podiatrists or stores like Good Feet Store, over-the-counter insoles for plantar fasciitis, Alpha Lipoic Acid supplements for neuropathy, and cortisone injections or needle procedures for fluid buildup. A recurring theme was that foot pain from chronic conditions can often be treated successfully, with many members describing life-changing improvements in mobility and quality of life once they found the right intervention.

Have you ever heard of the Good Feet Store? My feet used to hurt all the time. Being a nurse for 14 years really took its toll. But since I was diagnosed with fibro the foot pain just got worse. It was constant and effected my legs and then my back.
One day I was listening to talk radio and they had a commercial for the Good Feet Store. They claimed they could cure just about any type of foot pain. I made an appointment and went in.
Their treatment is three different custom made orthotics to fit you and only you. You wear them in stages for only certain amounts of time during the day. Lifetime guarantee. I did some research and talked to many people in the store. Most said it was life changing and their foot pain was a thing of the past. So I bought them.
I can't say enough. No more foot pain. No more leg and back pain due to my feet. It's pretty pricy but worth it because my pain is gone. I now love to take my long walks and can do so much more.
This is a national company so maybe they have one in your area. There are three in our state and I was lucky enough to live by one. Hope this info helps!

you can also get the insoles made by a podiatrist I used them for a very long time and they did help! a lot of health benefits cover them at least here in Ontario canada I had to pay first and send bill into health coverage co for reimbursement

I have the same issue. My doctor diagnosed me with gout. I take a pill a day and it gets better. You might want to bring it up at your next appointment.
