I do hot showers or cold ones depending on how I'm feeling. Heating pads come next or ice packs. Do a lot of praying. Try stretching some...if you feel like crying, then do it. Sometimes you'll feel better after a good cry and then a nap. Talking to friends and others who know about fibro helps. Good luck and gentle hugs
I've just had 2 weeks straight and only had a good day today. I just ride it out and accept that I can't do anything. I get really depressed and angry when I cant do house work but you have to let your body rest otherwise it will be ongoing for longer
@A MyFibroTeam Member Everyone above me gave excellent suggestions. I also have had flares lasting months. So I guess you can say it's different for everyone and each flare is different from your other flares depending on the trigger.
I have always tried to give myself as much rest and heating pad as I can. Easier to do since I'm retired. My kids were young when I got injured. It was hard to get things done and rest.
The first thing I look at when I have a flare is the quality of my sleep. For me it is key so I work on that first..generally difficult for me to do.
@A MyFibroTeam Member So sorry for your pain, Denise. It's not fun, I know. I was in a bad flare after Mother's Day. It lasted for over a week. Felt like I had been hit by a truck!!! I prayed, rested a lot, hot shower, walking slow, resting more and then resting more...oh, and crying. Nothing wrong with crying now and then. God gave us those tears for a reason...for me they help release pain. Have a cry and then get back up and fight like the true warrior you are! It will end. Get a piece of cardboard or paper and write big with a marker "THIS TOO SHALL PASS" keep it by you when you can! Read it often and repeat it when needed. It will pass, even though it doesn't feel like it. π€ I will send up a prayer for you right now. Gentle hugs to you too ππ€π
We have a jacuzzi and that helps a whole bunch! Warmth and lots of it. A quiet room and rest
