A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

I went to see a rheumatologist for the first time last week. He supposedly specializes in Fibromyalgia. He is the first person to give a difinitive diagnosis after taking a detailed history and an extremely thorough exam.

I am currently on gabapentin which I have not had much success with, so he wants me to start lyrica 3 times a day. I have two questions

I have tried all of them none of them really work very well unfortunately and Lyrica for me was the worst. The side effects that caused we're almost unbearable to live with and weaning off of these medications cause incredible withdrawals so I'm really trying to look into some herbal and holistic remedies I hope it works well for you and good luck

I went off Lyrica it i started out paying 6.59 then it went up to 45.00 then in one month it went up to 53.00.& it did not help that much with the pain.

I've been on Lyrics for 13 years and it is the only drug that helps me. It will take 6 weeks before you you will feel any results. It can also be addictive after several years. I can't function without it.

I'm having luck with Cymbalta and Ambilify, with no weight gain, due to other issues This was huge, also my Dr was worried about more side effects that concern the lungs.
God Bless. xx

I have been on Cymbalta for many years and it helps. It usually takes several weeks to a month to really start working.
