Hi fibro friends, has anyone heard of or had these T.P.I's administered? Trigger point injections? Does anyone know are they effective? Are they the same as Facet, Rhizotomy injections ( nerve blocks) any info greatly appreciated 😊
Do trigger point releases yourself or get a physio etc.. It's not that hard as long as you can reach them. Just find the most painful point and push... let it disappate, and push again. Go for 1-2 minutes, then move around to another. You can use diclofenac on it afterwards. I use tennis balls under my hips etc in bed, kills but works.
I have had every one of those and more don't help
I understand that those are two different types of injections and the nerve block injections need to be especially carefully administered!
TPI are supposed to help. But don't know if it is the same as the other injections that you mentioned. I have had a few TPI and I'm not sure that they helped much. Also had radio frequency ablations (to deaden the nerves in my shoulders). I've read and been told that this can take several weeks to some months to get the entire benefit. I had this procedure done 6/23 and still waiting for good benefits.
I'm not sure, but I get weekly Fusion therapy shots in trigger points, you can also get it by IV. I had been doing it for 2 yr now. I like the shots better coz more of the medicacion goes to the points that are painfull. Sometimes it takes the pain completely, sometimes for few days, but I can definetely see the difference.. The IV doesn't make much of a difference coz is spread trough the whole body. But if you have pain in areas that the shot can't be done or you have sensitive skin, IV is better. After 2 years I had noticed that the nerves in the areas of injection become supper sensitive and it almost feel that over the time it makes it worst, I would still had it done coz it helped me a lot and those few times that I'm over sensitive doesn't matter, it's worted suffering
