Members connected over the question of whether fibromyalgia affects hearing, sharing experiences that ranged from needing hearing aids and struggling to hear in noisy environments to dealing with constant humming or tinnitus that makes it difficult to focus or sleep. Several members offered practical suggestions including using a fan or pink noise to mask ear ringing, checking for wax buildup, seeking care from an ENT specialist, and working with an osteopath to address tight neck muscles that may contribute to hearing issues. A recurring theme was uncertainty about whether these symptoms stem directly from fibromyalgia, aging, or a combination of factors, with many describing fluctuating good and bad hearing days.

Try an osteopath, or work on the muscles all around your neck.. it's possible that will help as it's all connected. There is nothing with fibro that would directly affect your hearing, but certainly taut muscles will.

I have tinnitus in my right ear. I went to an ENT doctor and was diagnosed with some hearing loss. I never went back because the hearing aids are so expensive. I try to have some type of low music playing to block out the ear ringing.

Having a fan running at night helps block out the humming.
