I'm really small, and I've always weighted not a lot. However, I don't eat as much as I uesd to (and I've never eaten a lot). I just have a very small appetite. I thought it was because I don't move a lot anymore. And I have nausea probably because of my meds. But my weight is now quite low and I'm a bit preoccupied about it. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue. I talked to my doctor about it and he's gonna make me do some blood tests.

Members connected over the challenge of maintaining weight with fibromyalgia, particularly when medications like cyclobenzaprine and citalopram cause nausea and decreased appetite. Several members recommended practical strategies, including high-calorie medical shakes available by prescription, focusing on protein-rich and higher-fat foods, and using supplements like Ensure or Boost to ensure adequate nutrition on difficult days. A recurring theme was the importance of following through with blood tests to check for deficiencies, being patient with new medications as side effects can stabilize, and finding personalized solutions since meal replacement drinks and certain foods may not work for everyone.

Yes since Fibro I've lost weight. I especially find it hard in winter to maintain weight as the cold increases the pain which increases the nausea. Last winter I had to take a medical shake thing which is basically a high calorie drink that sick people take to maintain weight. I got it through prescription from my drs. It helpped a lot on the days I just couldn't handle eating due to nausea, I knew at least I was getting the nutrients I needed if I could just have the drink...slowly throughout the day.
