My doctor thinks I'm crazy when I say the medicine makes me tired. I've tried Norvasc, carvedilol and lisinopril. I tried to explain to her that maybe with my fibromyalgia I am too sensitive to the ingredients and again she thinks I'm crazy. When I say extreme exhaustion, it was to the point that I didn't care about life, it was just passing me by. I honestly don't want a stroke or heart attack and would love to find a medicine that works. Please if anyone can offer advice I would appreciate… read more

Members rallied around someone struggling to find blood pressure medication that doesn't cause extreme fatigue on top of their fibromyalgia symptoms, with the overwhelming consensus being to seek a second opinion from a doctor who listens and understands that people with fibro can be hypersensitive to medications. Several members shared medications that have worked for them, including hydrochlorothiazide, propranolol (which also helps migraines), atenolol, and verapamil, while others recommended lifestyle approaches like juicing with beets, cutting out caffeine and salt, and staying hydrated. A recurring theme was validation that blood pressure medications absolutely can cause fatigue, that this side effect is real and documented by many patients, and that finding the right medication often requires patience, persistence, and a healthcare provider who takes your concerns seriously.

My doctors say it's not the blood pressure med but I'm 100% sure. I know fatigue from fibromyalgia, I've been dealing with that for 15 years, but this is extreme exhaustion. If you look up the medicine reviews from actual people who take the medicine, most will say the same thing, it makes them too tired. I'm hoping I can find one that will work and not make me so tired. My doctor wanted to add another med on top of the one I was taking and I thought are you crazy, I would never get out of bed lol
