So I found a new pain management place I have to get my doctor to write a referral saying why I need to be seen then they decide if I can see the pain doctor

For those of you in pain management what is it like. ? Any other doctors appt. Or is it different?
N I'm guessing they do urine test. Do they do any blood work too?
( I'm just wondering what to expect)

Members shared their varied experiences with pain management clinics in response to someone wondering what to expect at their first appointment. Several members described monthly visits that typically include urine tests, discussions about pain levels and medication effectiveness, and treatments ranging from prescriptions and pain creams to spinal injections and nerve blocks, with costs and protocols varying widely by provider. A recurring theme was the importance of researching doctors beforehand and advocating for yourself, as experiences ranged from helpful and supportive care to providers who were overly focused on medications or had poor documentation practices.

From my experience it depends on the doctor.... it depends on your symptoms....it depends on you physical appearance....and lots more stuff I am just speaking for my own experience. I am in Texas and with my doctor, my medications that are in my pain pump and how my person is adapting to the treatment so after 3 test in six months we moved them to just once a year. Like I said, I am no doctor, I am a survivor! God Bless and I hope this helps! My main reason for where I am at today is my God! He gets all the glory! MW

I went to my pain Mgmt specialist twice and he basically just check over my current medication to see if they needed adjusting. They were kinda expensive...I paid $125 out of pocket for my visit and a nerve injection. He just told me what I already knew about Fibromyalgia but he was helpful. I suppose to go every month but I go when I can.

Hope u have a wonderful visit!

I see my pain management doctor once a month, and do a urine test. I get refill on my pain meds, and my pain patch. I've had nothing but great experiences for almost a year now. My doctor does his best to make sure I'm pain less and have the best quality of life that I can have. I have Fibro, and a rare bone disease.
I hope this help you. If you need anymore information about my experience, I'll be happy to share. Wishing you the very on your pain less journey.
