@A MyFibroTeam Member, you don't need an expensive gym to exercise. Get a pair of three pound hand weights, and look up some routines on the internet. Find a free activity you enjoy doing that gets you moving. For me its hiking trails. Look for your local community center for recreational activities. Find a walking buddy to chat n walk. Start where you are, and build from there. I hope your situation improves soon. Sending positive energy your way.
I can't afford to go to the gym it's over my budget and I have to find some way of having more money coming in then going out because of the debt my so called ex left me in and at the moment I have more going out then coming in and he has left me in just over 2 grand of debt so i need to find a cheaper way but as good
@A MyFibroTeam Member your exercise is great. I started a year ago and it made a big difference.
I found lots of little changes worked for me. Went from size 24 to a 12 in 7 months. I drilled into my head that i wanted to be healthy more than i wanted the snack foods.
I started substituting foods one at a time. Baked items instead of fried. Crunchy veggies with a light dip instead of potato chips. Variety of fruit instead of sweets. Water enhancer or lemon water instead of soda. Didnt deny myself a bit of chocolate, but would eat one or two snack size instead of a whole candy bar. Instituted a "one day" diet...eat healthy all day, and you can have a snack tomorrow. This progressed to two days, then three, until i only ate junk food on fridays.
Exercise...mix it up so you don't get bored. Walking, biking, swimming, playing a favorite sport or trying a new one. In my opinion weight training is a must. Once i started building a little muscle, the fat just melted away! Two to three days a week, light weights, more reps. Home or gym, doesnt matter.
Start where you are and build slowly. Five to ten minutes a day of heart racing, heavy breathing motion really does make a difference.
I've put on so much weight since a I started pregabalin I'll soon be a blimp!
As I have had both of my knees replaced the gym is not really any good for me.
As the title of a film suddenly popped in to my head "Free Willie" although in my case it was "Free She Willie" I decided water was the way ahead!
I found the best swim suit I could find and it was an Adidas one with racing back but nice long shorts.
Then, towel (I really me bath sheet <>) under my arm I set off to aqua
Aerobics in my local pool.
Once there I felt I fitted right in, the were people of all shapes, sizes and gender!
I have never, ever, ever had soooo much fun, so much i go on a weekly basis.
Stay strong my fellow Fibro warrior x
