Did Your Fibromyalgia Start Off With Extreme Fatigue Then Taper Off?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Most people with fibromyalgia seem to have extreme fatigue daily. Well when I got hit with these symptoms in full force 4 months ago, the fatigue was debilitating but tapered after 3-4 weeks. Don't get me wrong, I still have some days where I am exhausted but not daily. Is this normal with fibro. Or do I have to be fatigued daily to have this fibro? I am still trying to sort things out. Thanks for your feedback.

I wake up with extreme fatigue. I try to relax with a cup of coffee, then take a hot shower. If I need to a use "biofreeze" where I have the most pain. Then I move as much as I can. Laundry, dust etc. Sometmes this works, and other days it doesn't. Hanging out with friends or family to distract me is also helpful.

I have had fibro for about 23 years, since I was 15 years old. For me the symptoms come and go and change over time. Sometimes I will have an all consuming fatigue which is the worst symptom, sometimes my pain is bad but my fatigue is not so bad. I have had long periods where I have felt well (probably 6 months to 9 months) and totally forgot that I had ever been sick. For me over time it has become much easier to live with fibro because I know what to do when it flares and I follow a very strict diet which I think has made a massive impact on my overall health.

Fatique is the WORST part of my fibro without a doubt

I am not always tired. I am lucky that I have a good few days when I feel better . Then I question if the doctors are right with my diagnoses. Then I get a few really achy tired days. It is like a see saw.

I do wake up most days feeling like I haven't slept. There are days that the fatigue floors me and other days I can feel tired but can get through the day ok. I honestly think everyone is different and we will all have good and bad days x
