How do you get rid of a flare that involves the creepy crawly and itching sensations?? It's driving me insane!! Feels like bugs are crawling all over my legs!

Yup! Had it before taking meds and still get them now. It's horrible!!! I find if I pull up pant leg and have it bare it is less intense. I used to almost rip myself roar from itching! Cold cloth on them eases it too!!

UPDATE ON THE RESTLESS LEG/ARMS SYNDROME FOR ME: I still have my original bottle of the MAGNESIUM OIL SPRAY, so it was $20 and that was 3 months ago. I am still taking the gabapentin, which helps the most, but SERIOUSLY, I have had maybe 2 restless leg/body issues since on this oil with the dietary restraints and I do eat chocolate--dark chocolate--sorry I just cannot give that up!

The issue was, I was taking supplements of calcium, magnesium and zinc, and it tore up my bladder/kidney because I was not absorbing it usefully. I swear by this magnesium spray, it has helped me so much. I suggest giving it a try. I also use STOP PAIN spray, I get it at Walmart, and that has a minty type of cool/warm sensation and helps too.

My sleep has improved tremendously, I have less anxiety worrying if I am going to be up all night with restless legs!

I hope this helps someone as much as it has helped me.

I get that too. If I don't feel it move in any direction but just stays in place, then I know that it isn't a bug, and that's all I care about. For RLS, I use magnesium threonate and it works great. One can also take pramapexole as it really works good too. My RLS got so bad the other day (stopped taking my magnesium) that after a couple hours, it turned into pain. Then, I had to go to bed and then the restless arms started too. Pramapexole fixed that. If the RLS isn't bad, i will just use a rolling pin up and down my legs 2-3 times before bed and if necessary, massage my arms. This was before I started the magnesium threonate as the magnesium citrate wasn't doing any good for me except send me to the bathroom.

I forgot to add this: Most fibro patients have a malabsorption issue; the foods we eat and the vitamins we take do not get absorbed properly. That is why my doc suggested the magnesium spray. I was talking the calcium/magnesium/zinc supplements with no change. I take folates too, plus turmeric/curcumin to help with inflammation. I also take multi-vitamins and probiotics, selenium and vitamin D.

I have been on here awhile, but mostly just reading posts. I saw this one, and it hit home. I have fibromyalgia, osteo arthritis, anhidrosis (and other issues) and to the best of my ability it seemed to surface after a horrible domestic violence relationship, and I was also bitten by a tick. It set me in motion over 25 years ago, and now I am not really doing well at all--but working on it daily. To comment on the RLS--Restless leg Syndrome--I have it all over as well. It keeps you from sleeping, and makes life miserable. The anxiety alone from expecting it every night makes it worse. I have to share what helps.

First of all, if you research it, chocolate, alcohol and caffeine aggravate it. I cut all of those out. I eat gluten free, dairy free, mostly sugar free, etc. (Oh joy). I am on Gabapentin, I call it my "Stupid" pills, because there are slight memory issues. I will take that over the RLS any day, trial and error helped me find my way.

I take 300 mg at 2:30 in the afternoon. Then, at night, before bed I take another 300 mg, and sometimes I have to add an additional 100 mg pill. My new doctor recommended MAGNESIUM OIL, which is a topical spray. I researched it, and I found some on amazon. Please research the type you want: oil, undiluted, the size, and read the reviews. I am on my 3rd day of it, and LAST NIGHT I SLEPT ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FOREVER. I am entirely shocked that I never found this before I went to a new MD that also has a holistic background.

You must be sure your sugar levels and blood pressure are in line as well, because it interferes with all of the other issues. Stretching and yoga helps. I am going to see how it goes tonight, and I am looking forward to it! Just for those of you who want to know the product I chose, it was the Kaiame Naturals Magnesium Oil and it was $20. You spray it on your legs each day. Please READ ALL instructions, because it can leave your skin dry, or with white residue. It might sting a little. I had no side effects and found it to be a welcomed relief. I hope this helps. I am not endorsing the product, just telling you what I used from many choices available. This one came from the Netherlands source and has little pollutants in it. It also goes a long way.

Hugs to all....
