Dr Mark Hyman's book:Eat Fat, Get Thin. It's called functional medicine. I follow his fb page, get his emails, and watch his summits when he has one. There's others who can lend a hand: Dr Josh Axe, mindbodygreen.com, JJ Virgin, Dr Amy Myers, Dr Mercola and more.
I'm trying a new diet, hopefully starting first of week. If I have ANY success, I will post for everyone. I've had a lot of weight gain as well. I wish there was a trick where I could just click my heels together and have body I had 10 years ago. I'll keep looking for us all. Lol
I'd first talk seriously with doctors. LOTS of meds make you gain weight, which isn't good news I know. Sometimes they can pinpoint it to one, go off of it and try something else. In my case, we had to plat ring around the Rosie with several meds before we figured out that it was 3 of them. Serontin, which I'm off, prednisone, which took a long time to taper off of.. the third unfortunately us gabapentin... I can't go off of, it's the only thing that seems to work for my pain. Being off the other 2 has now given me the chance to try and start losing weight. My GP doctor recommends "Alli" from Walmart. He said it used to be by prescription only, but is now over the counter. He said it binds to fat and helps wash it out of the body. Just be careful, if you eat something really fatty like French fries, you will get the "runs to the bathroom"... I'm serious! It is really working for me. I started taking them in January and I've already lost 22 pounds. It is expensive, but worth it. Honestly, I'm also doing Arthritis Foundation stretches in the pool 3-4 days each week... I'm really trying to lose, as I need to shed 100 total.
I started having small snacks every 4 hours. I have lost 13 pounds. I take a lot of medications and some of them say they can cause weight gain. I needed something and my son told me to do this. It's working.
Try changing your meds Hun. I put a stone on when taking duluxatine so changed to imipramine and haven't put any more on but am struggling to get the stone off. I go to ww and have done for a long time so I have to be patient and take it a 1lb at a time and be grateful it's coming off. You will make great friends at the club, it feels like a friendly coffe weekly coffee time and lifts your spirits. Hope it works for you too. Xx
