I've just had the implant fitted and it's great. Hardly any bleeding. Didn't hurt that much and healed really quickly xx

I had a coil fitted in November and bled more or less every day since having it fitted. I had a 20 day heavy period, then off for a couple of days then back on for a week then off again then on again, the pain was horrendous, on the 3rd period I asked for help and things just went from bad to worse. I was saw 6 doctors in 10 days as well as been sent to A&E and been seen by a gynaecologist having blood tests no one could tell my why I was bleeding so much. I was on 2 lots of blood clotting medications and still bleeding heavily. Yet the blood clotting blood test came back normal and I was still sent home. My temperature was through the roof I was tachycardia after struggling for 4weeks I was given antibiotics in case of infection which helped a little but as soon as I finished them my temperature went straight back up, I had no choice but to have the coil removed. And have more antibiotics. I'm now on a tablet which isn't for birth controller is to help with ridiculously heavy periods but isn't helping, back to see gp on 22nd March but have an urgent appointment with a gynaecologist next Tuesday to see why I have so much pain and why my periods have gone so bad. The coil caused me so much pain and no one I've spoken to since that's had them fitted has had a good experience with them yet the doctors say loads of people have no problem with them but I've never met one. I had mirena 2 years ago. Never had children. Used for both birth control and to stop heavy bleeding. Was very painful. Pain on and off for a week. Spotted for 6 months but after that all has been great. Only had spotting 2xs that lasted a day.

Good glad it helped I was worried about it before I had it but as soon as I had it I absolutely loved it and knew it was the best thing for me. Everyone is different though so worth a try xx

I found ok not as much as the pill. You do gain some on it but I didn't bleed once. I was on it for 3 years had a break and then another 3 years and I loved it. Go get it every 3 months and a little scratch and it's done. I would recommend it. I think you gain weight with any contraceptive but I found the injection the best. I wouldn't advise the implant I know 2 people who have lost the implant in there arm and had to have it cut out from all different places in there arm and I also know someone who
Got pregnant on the implant aswell so it's up to you all people are different but after seeing what the implant has done to my friends and sister I would never have it x
