Does anyone have issues with their immune system not functioning properly?
Despite the fibro and chronic fatigue I had always done pretty good at not getting all the colds and flus everyone was getting then I got a really nasty virus last year and I just thought it was really stubborn and kept coming back but then my doctor told me that my immune system is now dysfunctional as a result of the fibro/chronic fatigue. Yes low iron, low B!2. I take a B12 and C everyday And an iron every 2nd or 3rd day. As iron constipates my doctor gave me iron tablets with a built-in laxative. It works so well that I have the runs for 2 days so I wait until it has stopped before I take a further one.
Thanks for all the responses. I also found out today I have anemia. I had some iron boosters last year but apparently my levels are still below normal so I'm wondering if that has anything to do with it. Anyone else also have low iron?
Go to a good health food store and get probiotics. at least 20 billion per capsule. It really helped with my stomach issues, when my doctors could not figure out what was wrong with my stomah problems. they even had my on 4 different meds, some once a day, up to some being 4 time a day
Same, my bloodwork often shows mild anemia and low B12. I take a good supplement and a probiotic 3-4x weekly to help my gut stand a fighting chance (since our immunity is in the gut). I also feel AWFUL when I overindulge in starchy carbs or sugary foods. Everything in moderation as my father used to say. :)
Yes ma'am. It waxes and wanes. I can sort of tell when I need iron and take supplements. I try to get it in my diet too (meats, leafy greens, and I love cream of wheat). Raisins are also a good source and a healthy snack.
