Has anyone heard of or read about useing botox for fibro?
I did some research n it's not used in the US but they do use it for fibro trigger points which they say helps the pain a bit but it's not a cure all.
I finally caved n let my headache doctor do botox which scared me to death n I will say this is the first time in years the back of my neck n head doesn't feel like it's twisted n knotted n everything else. I've only had one treatment but I'm willing to see how it goes

I did a lot of reading. I read the good n the real bad. I honestly was scared to death. Neck pain n headaches n severe side effects but my doctor told me they have treatment for that just in case. But what got me was the migraines of course but more the tension in the back of my head neck n shoulders it was so bad n nothing at all took the egde off. I had to take the risk n try. N so far I'm glad I did.
Best of luck to you
Jes01102015,
I had Botox suggested for my migraines and refused. Since then I've heard similar positive results as you are describing. I also have severe neck pain. I may do some more investigating. Thnx!
@A MyFibroTeam Member, If something works for you, that's a good thing. Hope it continues to help. One thing I've found is that just because something works for me doesn't mean it will work for everyone. It's always an experiment. I think that why fibro is so hard even for the doctors who treat us. There is no one definitive treatment. You just have to keep trying things till you find things that help you. Would be nice if there were a set treatment that would work for everyone.
That's awesome it worked so well for you. I have migraines horribly and they almost always come from the tension in my neck. But botox injections kinda scare me.
