Can A Flare Consist Of Extreme Fatigue Without An Increase In Pain?
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

The past few months I have had extreme fatigue and it seems to be lifting a bit. I was wondering if a flare could just be extreme fatigue.

@A MyFibroTeam Member, I get the "drugged" feeling also. Also, my energy doesn't get better either no matter how much sleep I get. Thanks to everyone who has responded so far. I really feel like this is a flare of the fatigue part of fibro. I know I am coming out of it now but couldn't figure out what it was. With this disease, you are always learning something. Gentle hugs to all!

I get extreme fatigue like that maybe 3-4 x per year. I never know how long it's going to last but all I do is sleep day and night. It's like I'm drugged and can't wake up properly. When it finally stops I don't feel more rested and I'm also now weak from not eating properly. If I am able to do anything I am so totally exhausted with the slightest activity and seems I'll never find any energy. My pain doesn't get better with all the sleep I get. Just stays the same. Hope this helps. Gentle hugs and God bless.

I have days that I can hardly get out of bed from being exhausted. So, I would say yes to your question. Luickily those days are usually on the weekends so I can rest.

No doubt the 1st couple times I experienced severe chronic fatigue I thought someone drugged me or something, I couldn't stay awake or control my thoughts. It scared me. Fatigue can get some bad it'll make you forget your pain for a minute but I experienced bad headaches as a result.

Yup I not to long ago was in a flare which I didn't realize at the time but I was so exhausted all I could do was go from bed to the couch. I thought something else was wrong with me but it got better.
