Has anyone made use of a chiropractor and does it work?

I find that a chiropractor specializing in acupressure works best. I have spent a lifetime going to different chiropractors as I moved from place to place, and find that this kind knows pest how to help us. They are also great at learning to recognize your trigger points and avoiding them while giving us the most benefit from treatment.

I have used a chiro since I was a young child. Sometimes it works others it causes a major flare. I would find a Chiro that is very practiced with fibro patients and that spends at least 45min with you each time. Good luck! Dry needle work from my PT has given me the best results.

Chiro has its place. I use one for maintenance, every couple of months, as my hips tend to twist sideways. Just like docs, there are good ones and not so good ones. I find the pre adjustment therapies helpful...the massage roller table, tens therapy, hot packs. Dont let them scare you...almost everyone has subluxations. The adjustment may seem scary at first, especially with the neck. Just relax as much as you can. It may be intense, but shouldn't result in lingering pain. Drink lots of water and use a hot pack or hot bath after.

Oh, and be sure they know you are sensitive, and speak up if any of the treatments are too intense and need to be adjusted.

I do go to the chiropractor. He knows about fibro and is as gentle as he can be. It does help but you should know that it is only a temporary relief unfortunately. When the pain is so bad, I will take whatever relief I can get.

Yes I have, recently. Felt good for aawhile. On the second visit he told me I have advanced osteoporosis and there was not much he could do to help me. Am now using a Tens machine and that helps a lot.
