I am afraid I won't be able to work much longer. I have good job with excellent benefits and I am the one who provides the insurance for my family. My husband is in sales and is paid commission only. His income is not steady. How do you keep a roof over your head when you can no longer work?
Many struggle n have to compromise how they live. It might be that when you can no longer work your husband might have to take a more conventional job that offers benefits. Or your family may need to cut back drastically on lifestyle to make ends meet. Smaller place to live, doing without extras like eating out, being frugal with grocery money. If you need to apply to ssi, expect a long battle before being approved. Put cash away now. You may need ot soon enough
I would start practicing now and making changes for living with one income. This way the stress of one income will be started while you are still able to work and not as sick. If you wait till you can't work the financial burden and stress will make your already painful Fibro worse.
Start also making notes of how Fibro affects your job, family life, home life and social life. All doctor visits documented and any recommendations he makes and that you're tried them. Any meds you've tried and how they affect your ability to do your job. This is for when you apply for disability. Hope this works. Gentle hugs and God bless
I have been declared disabled and collect ODSP
After my Fiance passed away in had to move in with family. I now live with my best friend of 40 years. I would be OK I I didn't have a large bills I pay. My ssi is small. I really have to budget and cannot afford my own place.
@A MyFibroTeam Member May I ask what type of work you do? and how do you find a reputable company to work for?
