I've been noticing over the last few days that I'm biting my teeth together, I don't know I'm doing it until my teeth and jaw start hurting, then I have to consciously relax my mouth!!!??
Just wondered if anyone else experiences this or if it's just me?

Members overwhelmingly related to the experience of unconsciously clenching and grinding their teeth throughout the day, a condition called bruxism that many linked to fibromyalgia, tension, and TMJ. Several members shared practical solutions they have tried, including custom-fitted mouth guards from dentists (which can be expensive) and store-bought versions (which vary in effectiveness), though daytime clenching remains harder to manage than nighttime grinding. A recurring theme was the relief and comfort in discovering they were not alone in these painful and sometimes embarrassing symptoms, from jaw clicking to accidentally biting tongues and cheeks during sleep.

This also happens to me, like @A MyFibroTeam Member I also grind my teeth. I have to sleep with a mouth guard too as I bite my tongue, lips and inside of my cheeks in my sleep. I am fed up of throwing pillow cases away when I can't get the blood stains out of them. I have started to buy cheap plain white ones from Primark as I don't mind throwing these out so much.

Yesterday I changed my pillowcase when I got up as I had bit my tongue and it had bled. Then lo and behold I wake this morning and my mouth guard is on the floor and this pillowcase is stained more than yesterday's.

So @A MyFibroTeam Member you are not alone in this weirdness, There are loads of other weirdo's on here and we are all with you.

Have a great weekend.

Love and soft hugs
Denise xx

@A MyFibroTeam Member ..I bought a mouth guard that arrived today, have tried it out but couldn't wear it out and about or at work etc & it's throughout the day I realise I'm doing it! I'll mention it to the doc at my next review appointment xx

They do sell mouth guards in stores. Some work and some don't I found this out years after I spent $1500.00 on one specially made for me by an oral surgeon.

I do this too. I was told by a dentist years ago that I grind my teeth. I figured it must be at night because I never caught myself doing it during the day, Now I do it during the day also. I am going to look for a mouth guard. It's very annoying and I'm tired of my teeth and jaw hurting. Best wishes
