As far as the hip pain I completly get you this happens to me off and on and my rheumatologist dosgonised me with bursitis in my hips. It is a terrible pain that makes it hard to walk much lest do anything else. Idk if you have been checked for bursitis or not, but if not in would definitely talk to your Dr about the pains your having.
The best theing to do is see your doctor to see if they can determine what is causing the pain. When I first started having hip pain they ran all kinds of tests and determined that the pain was actually coming from my back. I have to be careful how I move so I don't twist my back or I get shooting pain through my hip. Who knew?
I find that it helps to have heated seats on long trips. Even in 100degree weather, I'll turn my AC on and heated seats and go.
I hurt in my back down my butt, thighs and calf. Trust me it is unbearable pain and sometimes you can't even walk. I hope you feel better because I know how bad it hurts. Sending you hugs!!!!!
My hips and my upper thighs and calves flare up too. Especially my left hip. Sometimes its a physical thing I did that makes them hurt, like simply walking too much. Sometimes its stress induced or I've let myself get overtired. Once I had an argument with a coworker when I was feeling fine and then my hip flared up overnight and I could barely walk the next day. I had to go into Montreal for a teacher's conventions and just sitting in the car for the hour drive in was excruciating.
Pregabalin has helped so much. I started on just two 50mg pills a day. It helped a great deal but I still found I was in pain of some sort, especially my legs, every day and I was too tired to do much away from home. I told my doctor this at a check up and we decided to add another 50mg in the middle of the day. Wow. It changed my life. I can do things like grocery shop and drive into Montreal to pick up my daughter from college all by myself without getting too tired or my gas peddle leg and hip becoming too sore. I can play music on Friday evenings with my friends. I also take Cymbalta in the morning and Elavil before bed.
Walking too much or too quickly really seems to trigger my hip and leg problems. I always try to minimize my walking and plan my energy output around how much walking I need to do.
I can ride an exercise bike or cross country ski for 20 to 30 minutes then stretch with slow sun salutations as exercise and this helps keep my pain levels down and my energy levels up as well.
I am not working anymore either. Elementary school teachers walk and stand too much and the noise and stress and energy output is immense.
