Members strongly cautioned against stopping antidepressants cold turkey, emphasizing the dangers and recommending gradual tapering by taking lower doses, then every other day, to minimize severe withdrawal symptoms like headaches, nausea, and more serious reactions. Several members shared practical relief strategies including drinking large amounts of water, taking Benadryl or ondansetron for nausea, using ibuprofen for headaches, and trying natural remedies like ginger-honey tinctures or detox teas to ease discomfort. A recurring theme was learning from difficult experiences and advocating for better medical guidance, with members encouraging collaboration with doctors to safely transition between medications rather than enduring unnecessary suffering alone.

You should never go cold turkey. It's very dangerous. Headache n feeling sick is just the start. Even every other day n then lower is better then cold turkey.
If your going to do it anyway get headache meds like ibuprofen definitely need pepto anti diarrhea water or Gatorade.
Best of luck

As was I. This was the medication my pain management specialist put me on, the only pain meds they gave me was tramadol as if that could do anything. I have since gotten a new doctor that asked the same question. I felt like they were trying to kill me or make me crazy. Afterwards I realized he had diagnosed me with polysubstance use and abuse because I smoke weed they assumed I was getting high off the medication as well but I've never been high off eithere it justo calms me down and helps with my nausea and anxiety sometimes. Thanks for asking if thought it was a bit much my self yes I am depression and I have panic attacks and anxiety disorder but I dnt think I needed all thoses antidepressants, thank God I finally found a doctor who believes the same

I just went cold turkey as well on Cymbalta. I was only on it for a month though. I would weane yourself off if you were on it longer. Lower your dosage. And then when you're at the lowest take one every other day or so. Drink a TON of water. Like one jug a day. And maybe invest in a detox tea
