Members overwhelmingly confirmed that crying can trigger fibromyalgia flares, with many describing how emotional release leads to increased pain, fatigue, inflammation, and severe headaches that can last for days or even months. Several members explained that the stress causing the tears is often the real culprit behind flares, sharing strategies like setting boundaries with negative people, taking pain medication proactively during emotional times, and sometimes using steroid shots when flares persist beyond six months. A recurring theme was the frustrating paradox of needing to cry for emotional release while knowing it will worsen physical symptoms, met with deep solidarity and gentle encouragement from others who understand this painful reality.

Crying from shear frustration wondering what the hell is happening to my body after just been discharged from hospital after a series of chest pain and right side weakness to be told they can't find anything wrong with you.

Stress can show up in different ways even two weeks after a stressful time. If I break out with pimples I think back and there was stress before that time, so hence my pimply reaction. I think crying is a good release, but, like Rix also stated, the stress that caused it in the first place is likely to cause the flares. IMHO. Sorry you were feeling so bad. :( Hope you get to feeling better! Big Hugs!! πŸ’—βš˜πŸ’—
