What do ya'll do for the pain of bulging disc? They were hoping the shots in my back would help but its not. I do not want them screwing with my back to much but I don't know how to make this pain go away. Its always there, it never goes away. I can't touch them so I'm even scared to put my tens unit or my messager on them.

Members shared strategies for managing the persistent pain of bulging discs, with many acknowledging the frustration when injections and traditional treatments fail to provide relief. Several members mentioned finding partial relief through tools like TENS units, topical creams with lidocaine, back braces, aqua physio, and cooling gel belts, while others turned to pain medications like morphine or cannabis to take the edge off enough to sleep. A recurring theme was the emotional toll of chronic pain that never fully goes away, met with solidarity from others who understand the daily struggle of living with limited mobility and few effective options.

I have 2 bulging discs in my neck,as well as my back.the ones in my neck cause headaches, and i already had Migraines.it hurts to turn my neck, and i can't turn it all the way around.my Nuerologist wants me to get a shotfor that, and she said they give you the shot in the head, not the neck.first,i am getting a shot in my lower spine.from past history,no shots have ever helped me,and i've tried many,as well as on the knee.i amm a complete train wreck from my neck to my knees.not looking for sympathy, that's just the way it is.

Smoke some pot.
Again, I smoke one joint before bed and that helps to take the edge off the pain long enough for the sleep pills to kick in

I use a tens unit on my knees, and it helps a little sometimes.you need a bigger one for your back, and i live alone.i don't think i'd be able to put it on myself.i wish i could.but do try the tens unit.

I used to use Aspercreme with Lidocaine (purchased over-the-counter). Then my pain management doctor prescribed a cream with stronger Lidocaine and two other medications in it. It has to be compounded and is not covered by my insurance. My pain doctor also sold me a really wide belt with a (freezer) cooling gel packet that I can wear for two hours. I wear it late in the day. My insurance paid for part of it.
