Hello, I was wondering if anyone has gone to a casino since having fibro, I just wanted to know if it was still possible. I really want to go play some slots again soon but the thought of going to a loud, bright, stinky place seems terrifing to me. I used to get terrible headaches when I went and I haven't gone since the fibro onset. So I was wondering would it be a nightmare to go or is it even still possible? Members reassured someone wondering if casino visits are still possible with fibromyalgia, with most encouraging them to try but listen to their body and leave if needed. Several members shared that modern casinos have become more fibro-friendly, with quieter slot machines that no longer clank coins, improved air filtration systems reducing smoke, and less overwhelming noise and lighting than in the past, though sensitivity to these triggers varies from person to person. A recurring theme was the importance of pacing yourself, bringing a supportive companion who understands your condition, and using tools like sunglasses and earplugs to manage sensory overload while still enjoying life.

As long as you don't overdo it, I think we need to enjoy what we can in life as long as it doesn't hurt us or anyone else! Gentle hugs, Barb

I am sensitive to lights and noise and I try to avoid situations like that. Lights in a grocery store aggravate me so I keep my shopping trips short. I know immediately when I have reached my threshold.

I agree, if you feel up to it do for it. You'll never know until you go. Good luck
