Restless Leg Syndrome
A MyFibroTeam Member asked a question 💭

Those of you who suffer from it can you please describe your symptoms.

I mainly notice at night because I'm at rest but because I've been spending a few days in bed these past few weeks have noticed it during the day too.

I've called it twitching and it was a side effect of amitriptyline last year, that was stopped and it calmed down but I still twitch now.

Last night it was so bad I was bouncing off the bed, my arms, legs, and stomach all jumping and twitching so much I've hurt and ached… read more

I get those twitches mostly when my body is trying to relax. My RLS affects me a little different. Its from the knee down usually at night when trying to sleep, n the constant feeling of having to move my legs, kick, twist my ankles, stretch my calves, or have to walk in place. It had gotten really bad almost nightly, n bringing tears to my eyes. My dr had told me that low iron can make RLS worse. We found out I had iron deficient anemia,. Since I cant tolerate iron in pill form, he sent me for iron infusion therapy. I havent had a bout of RLS in 8 mos. I still get the twitches, that feel like little electrical shocks, which I consider to b different from RLS.
If he does blood work have him check ur iron.
Good Luck Wednesday!

Hi, I have the same problem, I read an article about it and a a Dr from America said to put a bar of soap at the bottom of the bed under the sheet, I have been doing this for about 3months now and it has helped with my restless legs.. I hope this helps.

I am on amitriptyline and for a while had twitchy legs. My doctor doesn't believe it causes it. The twitching has stopped now and I am still on them.
