It works its not that its stronger it is located in a spot that the nerve runs up the leg to the brain. I have had it for a year. It was well worth the money I also use an 8 lead tens unit if I need it for my back but not at the same time and I do leave the quell on for a few days helps the sleeping quite a bit.
