I am in pain all of the time. But there are times that I am in serious pain. I know what you are talking about when you ask about flares. When I am under stress or rest broken, my body goes into a flare and I am unable to walk with extreme pain in my joints, elbows etc. It is taking me longer (2 - 3 days) for the pain in my body to easy up to the point it is tolerable.

Some of us don't have flares - pain is 24/7 with fibro

I was diagnosed in 2012 and yes it has become much worse. It has spread to not only joints but muscles and now even skin, not to mention the severe migraines. Flare ups, I don't really understand the term because I'm in pain always everywhere.

I hurt everyday. Flares occur usually when the weather changes. I forgot what it's like to not have pain. It's a horrible thing to have.

Pain everyday, flare ups are severe days, where nothing helps
